Rifles are Amazing - Especially for New Shooters

This week at CCLSC, new shooter Nova tried out three rifles.  The IWI Tavor, the AR-15 and the AK47.  Of the three she enjoyed shooting the AK which was scored high on fun and was the most accurate with the Tavor.

CCLSC Shot-tober

I would like to welcome new member Kristi to CCLSC.  WELCOME!

CCLSC is always looking for new lady shooters.  In order to participate, you must be enrolled/competed the Women's 101 class offered at Tacti-Cool Gun's & Gear.  If you don’t want to wait until the end of/start of the New Year, Tacti-Cool offers an “Every Friday class” that meets, you guessed it, every Friday.  The next class is a 4 hour class beginning at 2:00 pm ending about 6:00 pm when the shop closes.  This class is the same material as the Women’s 101 without the benefit of being in an all women environment, range pass or the option to win a pistol. The other drawback is that it is a little more expensive than the Women’s class (which is $100).  The Friday class is $75 and then you pay for your range time, rental, ammo and target.  This adds about $35-40 to the cost of the class.  However, the Friday class is limited to 6 students so you’d have a smaller class instead of the 30 students in 101.

Tank Girls: A CCLSC Photo Shoot

The Ladies of CCLSC took a break from "shooting" for a photo shoot. THANK YOU to our friend John for hosting us that evening and letting us climb all over his WW2 armored vehicle, Brian and Tacti-Cool Guns & Gear, Inc.for all that he does for club. Advanced Squared - Day One

CCLSC recently secured some space to do some additional training over the next few months.  With limited local training available, CCLSC decided to work together with local oil company PCEC and our sponsor Tacti-Cool to pilot some advanced training.  Hence "Advanced Advanced" was born.

To participate, CCLSC members must have completed the Advanced Pistol class at Tacti-Cool and be able to demonstrate several key skills that will form the core of our training.  Proficiency in drawing from a holster, reloads, malfunctions and basics in rifle shooting.

Our first meet up focused on a basic review of qualification, shooting from behind a barrier on both the right and left hand sides, basic reloads, tactical reloads, cover versus concealment, follow up shots and multiple targets. Rifle drills included shooting from behind a barrier, follow up shots, optics/red dot sights, and multiple targets.
